On the margins of the EU General Affairs Council, State Secretary Marko Štucin took part in the EU-Montenegro Intergovernmental Conference, where participants took stock of the overall accession process and provided political steer for future work. The Conference is a recognition of the results achieved by Montenegro and an encouragement to continue reforms, with special focus on the rule of law.

State Secretary Štucin in Podgorica pledges Slovenia's continued support for Montenegro on its EU path
During his visit to Podgorica, State Secretary Marko Štucin met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Filip Ivanović, Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević, and Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro Oana Cristina Popa. He held political consultations with Milisav Raspopović, State Secretary at the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Slovenia co-organises the international project Her CyberTracks to empower women
On 18 September 2023, a three-day training conference kicked off in Podgorica as part of the international project Her CyberTracks designed by International Communication Union (ITU) and Germany (GIZ) incollaboration with the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C) and the University of Montenegro. The project is aiming to bridge the digital gender gap.

Signing of a Letter of Intent to establish a regional Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre
A trilateral Letter of Intent was signed in Podgorica between the ministries of foreign affairs of Slovenia, France and Montenegro on the establishment of a regional Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C; Centre de développement des Capacités Cyber des Balkans Occidentaux - 3CBO) at the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, which is part of the University of Montenegro in Podgorica.
